I often sit under this oak tree at my house and think about the day it was planted 60 years ago. My dad grew up in this house in Tulsa and planted this exact tree. He and my grandfather rescued it from disease, nurtured, watered, and tended to it.
Now it has branches bigger than most trees in the yard. I wonder what am I doing, if anything, that will have such lasting effects?

Hello my friends! I hope each of you have had an amazing 1st quarter. And all the resolutions we made are holding strong// working toward worthwhile goals.
To give an update on Pence Engineering, near the end of last year I was hired for my dream job, flying a Learjet based in Tulsa Oklahoma.
It took the absolute majority of my time and focus to quickly get up to speed on the new airframe. This didn’t allow any time for new projects.
Fast forward to this year, and I’m now able to create again. Create projects that inspire and motivate me. And that’s just what I’ve done, starting with this attached barstool bench in my own home.

Big news!!! This last month I accepted a full time flying position based right here in TULSA!
It’s such a blessing and I’m so excited to continue furthering my career and passion as a professional pilot.
Pence Engineering also means the world to me! It’s provided financial freedom to live life on my terms as well as create and produce projects that I love. With all that said, I am going to take a short break from carpentry while I focus on training and acquiring new pilot certifications. Once the “new normal” has set in and I get a grasp of my new schedule; I look forward to continuing my carpentry work building custom pieces! I can’t thank everyone enough for all the encouragement and support over these last 8 years. I’m excited for what’s to come!
